IT Il progetto, finanziato dalla European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights e coordianto da ICMPD, si è occupato dello studio dei confini marittimi (in Grecia, Malta, Cipro, Italia e Spagna), terrestri (di Polonia, Slovacchia, Ungheria, Grecia e Spagna), e aerei (di Francia, Olanda, Italia, Germania e Gran Bretagna). Il progetto è stato condotto tramite: ricerca sul campo per tutte e tre le tipologie di confine considerate; interviste a paesi terzi, alle autorità di paesi europei e non europei e a pescatori e capitani delle navi; focus group con gli stateholder. Al termine della ricerca i risultati sono stati discussi con le autorità nazionali. Parte della ricerca è stata anche dedicata all’analisi delle questioni legate ai diritti umani esplorate durante le operazioni di ricognizione, salvataggio e intercettazione marittime.
EN The project, funded by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, covered research on maritime borders (in Greece, Malta, Cyprus, Italy and Spain), land borders (the suggested land border crossing points encompass Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Greece and Spain), and air borders (the suggested air border crossing points cover France, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom). The project consisted of a strong field research component at each of the 3 types of borders mentioned. The field research included desk research, a range of interviews with third country nationals, EU and Non EU country authorities, fishermen and shipmasters as well as focus group discussions with (civil society) stakeholder groups. The results of the survey were discussed with national authorities towards the end of the project. Beside, the intensive research component issues of human rights and human rights training form a separate, but strongly interlinked component of the project explored during (maritime) border patrols, rescue and interception operations.
