IT La ricerca ha ricostruito e confrontato tra loro: 1. la mappa della possibile pressione dei problemi, ovvero la distribuzione degli immigrati sul territorio cittadino; 2. le politiche che possono avere un impatto più o meno diretto sulla popolazione straniera residente; 3. le issue proposte dai media. Obiettivo è stato quello di individuare stili differenti di trattamento della questione immigrazione sul territorio e di inclusione degli immigrati. Rispetto alla letteratura esistente, il progetto si è proposto di andare al di là dell’analisi delle politiche ad hoc, e di indagare l’offerta di integrazione nel contesto più ampio dei processi di trasformazione urbana e di crescente apprensione per la questione sicurezza. Sono state indagate tre città del nord che negli ultimi anni sono stati al centro di importanti episodi di crisi urbana: Torino, Bologna e Padova.

EN This research project aims at reconstructing and comparing: 1) a map of possible pressure points, namely the distribution of immigrants throughout the areas concerned, 2) the policies that could have varying levels of impact on the resident foreign population, and 3) the issues presented by the media. The purpose is to identify different ways of handling the immigration issue and the inclusion of immigrants on a local basis. With respect to existing literature, the project aims at going beyond an analysis of ad hoc policies and attempts to explore the issue of integration in the broader context of urban transformation projects, and the increasing worries over security. This first stage will explore three cities in the north of Italy which have experienced significant urban problems: Turin, Bologna and Padua. The research project is financed by the Compagnia di San Paolo.
